G Company

Also known as the Texas Military Forces Museum Living History Detachment currently presents the Close Assault:1944 program at TXARNG HQ at Camp Mabry several times per year. G Company previously developed the Island Assault living history demonstrations often seen at the National Museum of the Pacific War/George Bush Gallery in Fredericksburg, and spearheaded the tremendously successful international effort in 2004 to recreate the 1945 Iwo Jima campaign. An all volunteer organization, G Company maintains WW2 uniforms, weapons, restored vehicles and related equipment at personal expense and members pay their way to all events. Several members have assisted the History Channel and other networks with documentary programs; others have appeared as extras in recent Hollywood military productions.
